A Coruña, 10 June 2026. INCOGA has completed the comprehensive refurbishment of the former offices of the renowned textile brand Caramelo in A Coruña, giving them a new lease of life as a vocational training centre for the iLERNA group.

Covering an area of over 3,000 m², spread over three floors, this new space will become the first institution in Galicia run by the leading multinational company in face-to-face and distance learning, with over 50 years’ experience in the education sector.

Designed by the architectural firm MAS Arquitectura, the iLERNA Vocational Training Centre in A Coruña is characterised by a contemporary aesthetic based on neutral tones, exposed installations, sustainable and organic materials, spacious areas, and a carefully considered combination of natural and artificial lighting at strategic points. All of this has been conceived to promote the well-being, comfort and daily experience of students, teachers and staff at the centre.

The project incorporates a range of unique solutions, including microcement finishes, decorative elements in natural oak, flush-fitting doors with fixed upper panels extending to the ceiling, high-end designer lighting, and state-of-the-art, high-performance suspended acoustic panels.

INCOGA’s project began with the complete demolition of each floor to enable an optimised reorganisation of the spaces. The result is a building that has been converted into a functional educational environment, comprising a unique, spacious entrance hall and more than 30 rooms designated as classrooms, laboratories, offices, a library and toilets.

Furthermore, through its Applications Division, APLICANOR, INCOGA carried out passive fire protection works covering an area of 2,200 m². This project also contributes to improving the building’s thermal and acoustic performance.

For the flooring, three distinct solutions were employed depending on the use of each area: ceramic tiles, self-levelling cementitious screed and technical carpet, thus ensuring appropriate performance for the various teaching, administrative and circulation spaces.

Finally, INCOGA was also responsible for the external landscaping works, which included the refurbishment of the car park area, entirely paved with asphalt; the construction of an access ramp; and the installation of signage for the new centre.

Through this project, INCOGA is building on its expertise in transforming disused spaces into facilities of high social value, contributing to urban regeneration and the creation of new opportunities for the community. The conversion of former offices into a modern educational centre demonstrates how construction can go beyond mere technical execution to become a tool that serves the city, learning and the well-being of the people who live in and use these spaces every day.
