Execution of David Bailey’s Changing Fashion, the latest initiative by the MOP Foundation located at its exhibition centre in the Port of A Coruña.
This is the first retrospective of the iconic photographer in Spain, a first-rate exhibition celebrating the transformative impact of Bailey's photography in the 1960s and 1970s, when he photographed celebrities from the catwalks, music, cinema and royalty. Comprising more than 140 works by the acclaimed artist, some of them unpublished, the exhibition also includes material from his studio and a careful selection of personal objects that address the particularities of Bailey's creative environment.
INCOGA was responsible for adapting the existing space to house this new exhibition, paying meticulous attention to every detail throughout all phases of its creation. With its discreet, sophisticated and highly functional architecture, this project once again bears the signature of the renowned Elsa Urquijo.
Present since the previous exhibition, this display is complemented by a spectacular specialised bookshop with more than 5,000 books on different subjects, such as photography, art, fashion and architecture. Comprising a curved modular metal structure and a spectacular spiral staircase that allows visitors to ascend the silo in which it is located, The Book Store was designed and built entirely by INCOGA, based on a meticulous selection of materials at source. It is a grandiose and original space dominated by dark tones that highlight the colourful books.
