Doubts Exhibition Space – The MOP Foundation

2026 A Coruña

‘Doubts’, the latest major exhibition initiative by The MOP Foundation dedicated to the Italian photographer Paolo Roversi, is now open. The exhibition brings together 196 works, including both iconic and previously unseen images, and offers an intimate, sensory and deeply evocative journey through one of the most influential careers in contemporary fashion photography.

INCOGA was the construction company responsible for the comprehensive refurbishment of the existing exhibition space to accommodate this new exhibition, carrying out each phase of the project with technical precision and artistic sensitivity. Their work has enabled the complex scenographic concept to be faithfully realised, transforming it into a built reality where architecture, light, textures, transparencies and photography engage in a constant dialogue. The result is an immersive journey that stirs emotions in the visitor from start to finish, deepening their connection with the work.

Outside, an innovative feature on the façade stands out: Paolo Roversi’s name appears as if it had been sculpted letter by letter into the stone. This work was executed with almost surgical precision and is combined with the exhibition title, ‘Doubts’, formed from plates of weathered steel with openwork lettering, anchored to the façade using large-format fixings that evoke traditional thumbtacks.

Inside, INCOGA has developed unique architectural features, such as arches embedded in existing walls; an inverted cloister constructed using a lightweight roof supported by pillars and a ceiling of polycarbonate sheets; and a natural wooden floor that offers a different perspective from which to view the artworks, handcrafted plank by plank, painted and aged using a manual process.

The project also includes various exhibition elements of great scenographic value: translucent partitions created by combining methacrylates, filters and various fabrics, on which the photographs are displayed suspended by concealed rails; fabric-covered screens; floor-to-ceiling curtains; and a suspended display case housing the works created using Polaroid.

One of the most evocative spaces in the exhibition is the replica of Paolo Roversi’s studio, conceived as an approximation of the intimate setting where his portraits are created. For the photographer, who defines himself as a craftsman, the studio is his sanctuary: a small theatre where anything is possible. INCOGA has brought this idea to life through a structure in which pillars, fabrics and the play of light recreate the secret, contained and almost ceremonial atmosphere of the artist’s creative universe.

Now, with ‘Doubts’, INCOGA is once again playing a part in a new transformation of the MOP Centre, contributing technical expertise, precision in construction and an understanding of materials to bring about an exhibition in which the architecture not only houses the artwork, but also plays a decisive role in enhancing the visitor’s experience.
