Comprehensive implementation of Hi Coruña, the Human Intelligence Hub that drives and underpins the digital and business ecosystem, created with the aim of transforming the Galician economic and social model.
This innovative business centre is part of a comprehensive project to transform the exterior and interior of the former Los Cantones Village Shopping Centre, a unique building designed by the renowned architect Ricardo Bofill in 1986, for its new use.
The current intervention, covering an area of approximately 2,000 m2, was carried out by INCOGA through three distinct actions. On the one hand, maintenance and comprehensive renovation of the building envelope to achieve a renewed and contemporary exterior image. On the other hand, the demolition and clearing of all existing facilities for the subsequent creation of this hub, which is set to become the driving force behind digital innovation in Galicia.
Through a collaborative process with the technical management of architecture, engineering and interior design, INCOGA provided various solutions that were incorporated into this project, characterised by organic, sustainable and locally sourced materials.
Main work carried out by INCOGA:
- Development of advanced acoustic conditioning throughout the entire space, based on a sprayed finish on the coffered ceiling, which has been coloured throughout to match the colours of the walls and floor. Complete soundproofing of some rooms to enable meetings to be held in a 100% private environment without distractions.
- Creation of various rooms and individual offices, among which the Ágora stands out for its uniqueness, a multifunctional and open space characterised by its spaciousness and brightness. Equipped with custom-made Amazon oak benches, it offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- The vertical parameters feature organic finishes, with continuous lime coatings, a sustainable and toxin-free solution. Vertical, horizontal and curved cladding was also installed using locally sourced natural granite.
- Application of low-thickness flooring with concealed expansion joints that provide a sense of continuity and control possible cracking. This flooring allows for state-of-the-art, automatic robotic cleaning.
